What is Open Source Software?
Open Source Initiative

Open Source software is "software whose source code is published and made available to the public, enabling anyone to copy, modify and redistribute the source code without paying royalties or fees. Open source code evolves through community cooperation. These communities are composed of individual programmers as well as very large companies." (Wikipedia).

We believe that Open Source software provides powerful, cost-effective tools that educators can use to deliver the instruction needed to help their students become skilled and productive learners and citizens. We at CMOSS are providing Open Source solutions to schools to help them meet the challenges of strained budgets and diminishing material and personnel resources.
